We received word that the room we planned to use is closed due to a mold issue.
Discussed attendance at the upcoming Sun-n-fun event.
Doug suggested some of us might travel there as a group, maybe just that weekend. We will have a meet-up there, to be coordinated later. Intrest in group travel was Tom, Ralph, Doug, and myself so far. Anyone else interested please send an email to coordinate.
Dan will be there with his Chipmunk in the Warbirds area.
Ron will be there with his booth set up for the air park.
Discussed shortening the body of the monthly meeting to 30 minutes followed directly with technical discussions, demonstrations, or training.
Ron discussed the property tax on airplanes issue that he's working to get removed from the books. He requested everyone provide any stories of people relocating or deciding not to move their aircraft or business to SC / horry county as a result of the taxes.
Discussed procedures in controled airports for ops with no radio.
Doug told us about the operation of the light gun and operation specific to KMYR.
Watched a video demonstration of the light gun operation.
Discussed
George Moncrieff's project in Southport (Boiling Springs) and
tenatively planned a trip to visit him on Feb 1st. Details will be
emailed to the Chapter once we contact George to warn
him
coordinate the visit.
Carl discussed the use of a charging system analyzer tool for diagnosing aircraft electrical problems.
